Dr. Muricy, a name with international credibility

Dr. Muricy has performed over 3.300 baldness surgeries. His credibility all over the world is akin to his experience and background. All this credibility is reflected on the safety offered to patients of megatransplant of follicular units surgery.

José Candido Muricy graduated from medical school at the Federal University of Paraná in 1968. In the early 80s, when he was already  a renowned general surgeon, Dr. Muricy began his specialization in plastic surgery, which included internships under the supervision of world-wide renowned surgeons.  In 1986, he started to perform capillary transplants. Now, it´s been over 10 years that he´s exclusively focused only in this sub-speciality.

Dr. Muricy is a member of the Sociedade Brasileira de Cirurgia Plástica (SBCP),; he´s the founder member of the Associação Brasileira de Cirurgia de Restauração Capilar (ABCRC); currently being the regent for its Hair Restoration Surgery chapter; member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS); a former member for 6 years of the comitee to evaluate possible candidates to become members of the  SBCP; former member of the department of scientific events of the SBCP,; former-vice- president  of the National  SBCP and the former regional president of SBCP in the state of Paraná.

Because of his respectable medical résumé, Dr. Muricy receives patients from all over the world in his clinic.

All this knowledge about health and medicine has crossed generations. Dr. Muricy is the great-grandson of Dr. José Cândido da Silva Muricy, the first doctor of Curitiba, named by Emperor D. Pedro II, who built one of the city’s most important hospitals – the Santa Casa de Misericórdia (there is a street in the city named after him). It is from his great-grandfather that Dr. Muricy inherited both the name and the vocation to be a doctor.

Dr. Muricy is one of the country’s greatest experts in hair restoration surgery.  He was the first surgeon to perform this kind of surgery in the state of Paraná. He  was pioneer in the development of the Megasession tecnique in Brasil. His background and experience make the Muricy Clinic a center of excellence in hair restoration surgery.

The Muricy Clinic also counts with the experience of Dr. Maria Angélica Muricy, dermatologist and hair restoration surgeon.

Dr. Maria Angélica Muricy graduated from the Faculdade Evangélica de Medicina do Paraná in 1994. She was an intern in dermatology at the Santa Casa de Misericórdia of Curitiba between 1995 and 1997. After she completed her studies, she attended specialization courses in Argentina and in the United States in 1998. Since 1999 she has been working in the areas of hair transplant and non-surgical treatment of hair loss.

Dr. Maria Angélica had all her practical experience in the capillary transplant surgery acquired from Dr. Muricy since her academic years. Her vast acquisition comes from having performed in over 2500 surgeries of hair restoration. Since 1999, she´s been in charge along with Dr. Muricy and his team. In 2008, she started assisting patients in the city of São Paulo. Dr. Maria Angélica will be the responsible for the branch of the Clinic Muricy that will open in São Paulo in 2009.

She´s a current surgeon of the Muricy Clinic, operating pacients who suffer from either male or female hair loss, eyebrows, chest region, scalp scar crrection cases as well as facial leftovers from plastic surgeries.  she is also responsible for the clinical and laser treatments at the Muricy Clinic.

Dr. Maria Angélica Muricy is member of the Sociedade Brasileira de Dermatologia; founding member of the Sociedade Brasileira de Restauração Capilar; member of the Sociedade de Cirurgia Dermatológica; member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery; and graduated in Aesthetic Medicine at Universidade John Kennedy, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
